ACESSO – A1

This course is ideal for beginners who want to learn the fundamentals of Portuguese. We focus on basic vocabulary, simple grammar, and essential communication skills, effectively preparing students for the A1 exam in a fun and engaging way.

CIPLE – A2

TEJO – A1 – B1 / kids 9 – 11 years old

The TEJO course is a fun introduction to Portuguese for children aged 9 to 11. Through games, songs, and interactive activities, students learn basic vocabulary and structures, preparing for both the A1 and B1 exams in a playful and engaging manner.

Our standard programmes run for 12 months, offering a complete and structured learning experience.
We also provide 6-month and 3-month options for students who prefer shorter commitments, as well as intensive courses lasting 1 or 2 months for faster results.

Your teacher

Hi! My name is Sónia Martins, and I’ll be your teacher.
I have a degree in Languages and a specialization in Teaching Portuguese as a Second Language.

I started teaching over 20 years ago, using the same traditional methods as most of my colleagues — but soon realized they weren’t delivering the results I wanted for my students.

Years later, I decided to return to university to study neuroscience — exploring how the brain and nervous system work in relation to learning — so I could integrate that knowledge into my teaching approach.

In addition, I trained as a language coach to support students who were struggling with mindset or psychological barriers to progress.
Today, at Portuguese Accelerator, I work alongside a team of psychologists, doctors, and nutritionists to help learners overcome these challenges and achieve their full potential.
